A selection node is a pagan symbol consisting of three triangles. It is found on rune stones on Gotland that have a connection with Odin, but it is unclear what the knot actually symbolizes. Walnut means warrior ( valr ) and knot. The walnut is also called the heart of the beaten man, the heart of Valas, the heart of Rungner or the knot of Odin.
There are different interpretations of the meaning of the suffix. One interpretation is that it symbolizes Odin's power (with which he can rule over people). Another interpretation is that it symbolizes the nine worlds (probably because the three triangles have nine corners).
